We went to get our Christmas tree today. We’d planned on going last week but it was freezing, literally, on Monday and Tuesday. Then we were out of town. We went to a different lot this year- one a little closer. She still picked out a nearly identical tree to last year though. And how funny is this- the shirt she wore last year- she picked it out to wear tomorrow. It still fits a year later!

Rosie is staying at momma’s while Audrey and I are out of town. Rosie stayed there Tuesday night and Audrey and momma took her for a potty walk on Wednesday morning. Momma showed her all the frozen stuff- frozen leaves, frozen grass, frozen bird bath. What does Audrey do? Go up and lick the frozen bird bath. Gross! When asked what it tasted like, she said, “it was good.”

Last week we were going to the neighbor’s house to drop off our key so they could feed the cats while we were out of town. As we walked out the door, Audrey said, “Shouldn’t we turn off the (christmas) lights to save energy?” Aw, I’ve trained her well

Our neighbors have a tree that drops leaves in the driveway. The leaves are small and it hasn’t rained yet, so they are dry. Today Audrey and I raked them into a pile and played in them. Exactly 2 years ago, we did exactly the same thing! Of course, those pics are on the OTHER computer so I can’t show them for comparison, but I will soon. For now, enjoy these from today.

I got a couple pictures of Audrey on halloween. She was a witch, but a good witch.

Wow, how is Audrey 4 already?! she had her 4 year old check up (can’t really call it a well baby visit anymore). She is 39 inches tall and weighs in at 32 pounds. She got her hearing tested and passed. She had her vision tested- with the letters, not the shapes- and passed. The nurse said that some kids in Kindergarten can’t even do the letters! The dr did all the usual stuff- checked eyes, ears, nose, reflexes, tummy. She touched her toes and her back looks good. She also got her seasonal flu shot. She’s done really well with shots before, hardly even crying so instead of the nasal spray we just did the shot again. But she didn’t like this one at all and cried after it. On the way to preschool, she kept saying it hurt and wondered how long it was going to hurt. I told her that by the end of the school day it would feel better and when I picked her up that afternoon, sure enough she said, “Mommy it feels better just like you said it would!” She’ll go back sometime next month when the office gets more H1N1 shots in. They only received 125 total vaccines so they were keeping them for kids who really need them. Thankfully, Audrey isn’t one of those, but hopefully it doesn’t hit our family or her school before she can get her shot. We were also offered her Kindergarden(!) shots, but we aren’t going to do those until next spring. Not for any particular reason, really. I think we weren’t ready for her to be needing any shots other than the flu shot so we just said we’d do it next time.
